  i have a story to share with you and i hope that it does not bore you as it did just the opposite for me .

  after hearing what i was told i was so pumped up with holy spirit i thought i was going to crawl right out of my own skin .

  How do you know that they have made massive leaps from one extreme to another, Mary?

  Have you been with every single person during their journey from JWism to whatever they believe today?

  It's a rather arrogant assumption of yours to think that those who may not believe in a spirit world have not given thought to the possiblity of one in the past.

  Maybe they did, but objectively looked at what science says about NDE and for lack of proof of a spirit world, decided that there is none? Did you ever consider that to be a possibility?

  I am looking for compression shorts with at least one front pocket.

  i contacted all of the sporting good stores near my home to look for compression shorts with at least one front pocket so i can put my smartphone in it, so far no luck.

  i even googled it too, so far no luck too.

  any ideas?

  Sooo Armageddon comes....

  so let's say armageddon comes,do you believe that all jw's would be destroyed because jehovah knows it's a false religion...it can't be denied,for the most part,they try to live by the bible...if anybody has to be punished i would say it's the leaders...i know that god wouldn't judge a whole organization but persons individually....so what i'm trying to ask is....do you think you're in a better position right now not for freedom but for salvation than the witnesses??

  if by the time you're finished reading this post armageddon is here...would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made god proud?.

  Number of JW's on antidepressant medication & unemployment

  in the congregations i attended more than 60% of the people i knew were on some type of antidepressant medication.

  this rate seems much higher than "worldly" people i know/knew.

  or perhaps witnesses are just more open about this topic?.

  especially as most of the dole applicants could easily have had jobs if they had wanted to , but were pioneering & held up as good examples in the congregation , while I was regarded as wordly because I worked 5 days a week.

  I can relate to this. I knew some JWs who deliberately only worked a certain amount of hours so that they qualified for certain govt handouts, yet I was looked upon as materialistic because I worked full-time due to a strong work ethic that had been drummed into me by my JW parents. I had already been unemployed due to a financial recession and I didn't want to be dependent on the govt ever again if I could help it.

  Thinking about going to the memorial and...

  partaking.. background: i have never been a jw.

  i have been brought into their world (and the way better ex-jw world) through having a jw stepdaughter and extended family.

  i have really come to love my stepdaughter and frankly all this jw stuff pisses me off to no end, as you all might imagine.

  For one thing, you wouldn't be included in the partaker numbers because you're not a baptised member of the JWs.

  I can understand your aborrence to the ritual, but I think it would damage your relationship with your JW stepdaughter. It just depends on how good a sense of humour she has?

  Just have to add, when seeing the topic question and your user name, I was going to answer, that you were planning to eat popcorn at the memorial???

  Aboriginal Australians Aren't Black?!

  it's very rare that i visit this site these days and even rarer that i start a thread, but ever so often i see a comment so outrageous that i just have to respond.

  in a thread entitled "are black people more emotional than white people", the op made the following comment concerning the lack of "black people" in australia:"we have the australian aboriginal people butthey are a different race more related to white people i beleive.

  " the bad spelling and grammer isn't the only thing wrong with this sentence.

  Being able to perceive red is of evolutionary interest.

  So does that mean that men who are colour-blind are less developed evolution-wise?
